Terms of Service
Last updated September 29, 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and SteadyRing ("SteadyRing," "we," or "us") about your use of the SteadyRing website, dashboard, and AI receptionist service (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. Who can use SteadyRing
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service. When you create an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
SteadyRing is for businesses. If you sign up on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that business.
2. What the Service does, and its limits
The Service gives your business an AI receptionist, Rick. Rick can answer calls made to a phone number assigned to you, answer questions using the information you provide, take messages, capture details about people who call, book appointments through Cal.com if you connect it, and transfer calls to a number you choose. Your dashboard shows call summaries, transcripts, and recordings.
Rick is an artificial intelligence. It can mishear, misunderstand, or give incomplete or incorrect answers, and it may not handle every call the way you would. You are responsible for reviewing your calls and messages and for keeping the information you give Rick accurate and up to date. We don't promise that every call will be answered correctly, that every lead or booking will be captured, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or free of errors.
The Service is not an emergency service. Don't rely on it to handle emergencies or to connect anyone to emergency services such as 911. Call transfers are a convenience and can fail.
3. Your account
- Give us accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- Tell us right away at support@getsteadyring.com if you think someone has used your account without permission.
4. Your responsibilities
You decide what Rick says for your business through your settings. You are responsible for that information, for how you use the Service, and for your relationship with the people who call you.
Recording and AI notices. Laws about recording calls, and about telling people they are speaking with an AI, differ by state and country. You are responsible for following the laws that apply to your business and your callers, including giving any notices and getting any consent required before calls are recorded or transcribed. We offer tools such as a customizable greeting, but we don't provide legal advice.
No unsolicited calls. Don't use the Service to make or send unsolicited, automated, or marketing calls or messages, or for anything that requires consent you don't have.
Sensitive information. The Service isn't designed to handle health records (protected health information under HIPAA), payment card numbers, or government ID numbers. Don't instruct Rick to collect them. We don't sign HIPAA business associate agreements.
5. Subscriptions, billing, renewal, and cancellation
Plans and prices
SteadyRing is sold as a monthly subscription. The plans, their prices, and what each includes (such as included call minutes) are shown on our pricing page and again at checkout, before you pay. Prices are in U.S. dollars. Unless we say otherwise at checkout, prices don't include taxes, and you are responsible for any taxes that apply.
Setup fee
A one-time setup fee, shown at checkout, is charged with your first payment. It covers setting up and reviewing your AI receptionist. Once setup has started, it is non-refundable except where the law requires.
Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel. It starts when you complete checkout and is billed monthly in advance. At the start of each monthly billing period, we charge your payment method the then-current price of your plan, plus any taxes, until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor, Stripe, to charge your payment method on each renewal date. Your next renewal date is always shown on the Billing page in your account.
Price changes
We may change our prices or plans. We will email you at least 30 days before a change to your price takes effect. If you don't want the new price, cancel before it takes effect. If you keep your subscription after that, you agree to the new price.
Usage above your plan
Some plans include a set number of call minutes each month. If we charge for usage above what a plan includes, the rate will be shown before you subscribe and on your invoice.
Payment problems
If a payment fails, we will try the charge again and may email you. If we can't collect payment, we may pause or end your service. You remain responsible for any amounts you owe.
How to cancel
You can cancel at any time, online, without contacting us: sign in, open Billing, and choose Cancel subscription. You can also ask us to cancel by emailing support@getsteadyring.com. We will email you to confirm.
- Canceling stops future renewals. You keep full access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
- After that, your subscription ends and you won't be charged again.
- To avoid the next charge, cancel before your renewal date.
- Changed your mind? You can keep your subscription from the Billing page any time before it ends.
Refunds
Fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable. We don't give refunds for the unused part of a billing period when you cancel, except where the law requires it. If you think we charged you by mistake, contact us at support@getsteadyring.com and we will look into it.
When your subscription ends
When your subscription ends, we turn off your AI receptionist, release the phone number assigned to you, and end your access to the dashboard. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, deceptive, harassing, or harmful, or to impersonate anyone;
- use it to send spam or make robocalls, or to break telemarketing, privacy, or call-recording laws;
- try to break, overload, or get around the security of the Service, or to reverse engineer it;
- use the Service to build a competing product, or resell it without our written permission; or
- give Rick instructions meant to make it say or do something illegal or misleading.
7. Your data and your callers' data
You keep ownership of the information you give us and of the call content for your business, including recordings, transcripts, and messages. You give us permission to use, store, process, and share it as needed to run the Service for you, including sending it to the providers described in our Privacy Policy. How we handle personal information is described in that policy.
You are responsible for the personal information of your callers that you receive through the Service, and for responding to requests from them about it, such as requests to delete a recording. If we get such a request, we may pass it to you.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on other companies, such as voice and phone providers, payment processing, email delivery, hosting, and calendars (for example Cal.com, which you connect with your own account). Their terms may apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their outages or actions.
9. Our rights in the Service
We own the Service, including its software, design, and the SteadyRing name and logo. While your subscription is active, we give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your own business under these Terms. We keep all rights not expressly given to you.
10. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by canceling as described above. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if you don't pay, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we stop offering the Service. If we end your access for a reason other than your breach, we will refund the unused part of your current billing period.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE ANY PARTICULAR RESULTS, SUCH AS A NUMBER OF CALLS ANSWERED, LEADS, OR BOOKINGS. NOTHING THE SERVICE SAYS IS LEGAL, MEDICAL, OR FINANCIAL ADVICE.
12. Limits on our liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, CUSTOMERS, OR DATA, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE AND (B) $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
13. Indemnification
You will defend and cover us against claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that come from your breach of these Terms or the law, from the information and instructions you give Rick, or from how you use calls and recordings, including not giving required notices or getting required consent.
14. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change the Service. We may also update these Terms. If a change is important, we will tell you by email or in your account at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that date, you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree, cancel before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when these Terms were last updated.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If we have a dispute, please contact us first at support@getsteadyring.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve it. If it isn't resolved, either of us may bring the claim in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and we both agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
16. General
These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the Service. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce a part right away, we haven't given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business. We may send notices to the email address on your account.
